The Gifted was built from a passion to empower young people, provide opportunities, help them believe in themselves and enable them to make choices that are right for them.

“We want to enable young people to create solutions to the issues they face in an engaging and relevant way. Using our experience of working with young people, we know that the needs of the hardest to engage and disadvantaged young people are not being met and there needs to be a creative and innovative solution.”

We are dedicated to giving young people opportunities to learn in a way that suits them and enabling them to be creative and have their voices heard.

The Gifted was founded in 2012 by husband and wife team Jermaine and Aysha Julie. In March 2012 Aysha and Jermaine were awarded funding by Unltd to cover start up their costs. The Gifted was awarded charitable status in March 2013 and in May 2013 The Gifted was named as a Future 50 Young Social Enterprise of 2013 by Ernst & Young and Striding Out CIC.

In 2015 they were recipients of the UnLtd Fast Growth Award that included both a grant and a package of support to help with the charity’s growth alongside growing partnerships with business in the education, media and third sectors.
